KERRVILLE — The Sul Ross State men's soccer team was finally able to find the back of the net for the first time this season.
It was a valiant effort by the Lobos on Sunday evening, but they fell short 5-2 to Schreiner University.
Sul Ross trailed 2-0 in the first half.
A goal by Schreiner's Cameron Armer made the score 3-0 in the 48th minute. The Lobos erased the shutout when
Pablo Herrera scored off an assist by
Antonio Lozano in the 54th minute.
Julio Hinojos cut the deficit to one with a goal in the 57th minute that came off an assist from
Justin Quinonez.
Schreiner answered back by scoring in the 76th and 89th minutes to run away with the match.
The Lobos had a solid second half, tallying 11 shots. Herrera had six shots, with four coming on the mark.
