Trey Nelson and
Julian Paredes combined for 54 points and 22 rebounds in Saturday's 72-61 win over East Texas Baptist.

Xavier Webb. "They really brought the juice! It was good to see our guys fight their tails off and execute a game plan in one day or prep. We need to carry this momentum into practice next week as we prepare for two talented teams, Concordia and UMHB."
First Half
Julian Paredes and
Logan Dixon scored three apiece early for a 6-2 lead.
Trey Nelson later upped it to 8-3 with a triple before Paredes soon hit his second three-pointer of the game for an 11-5 advantage. The Lobos continued to hold a small lead through the first with their largest lead coming at 29-21 on a
Jordan Rhyne layup with under a minute left. The Tigers cut it to five with the next three, but Nelson finished the half with a late jumper for a 31-24 lead at the break.
Second Half
ETBU took their first advantage of the game with a 10-2 run to start the second. Nelson immediately took the lead back with a jumper before Paredes upped it to 38-34 on a triple with just over 16 minutes left. The Tigers' next lead came around the 11-minute mark with a 12-3 run for a 46-41 score. Paredes hit another triple to tie it 48-48 and soon made it 50-48 with a pair of free throws at 8:21.
Eli Gonzalez then made a layup and a free throw before Paredes finished what was a 14-2 run with a layup for a 55-48 lead with under seven minutes left. ETBU got to within three, but the Lobos spent the final two minutes on a 10-2 run for a 72-61 win.
Stats
Nelson's game and career-high 28 points came on 10-of-23 shooting and 7-of-10 from the free throw line. Three of his 10 rebounds were offensive to go with four assists and four steals.
Paredes' 26 came on 10-of-20 shooting and 4-of-9 from three. Three of his 12 rebounds were offensive.
The Lobos improve to 8-13 and 5-11 in the ASC. ETBU falls to 11-10 and 9-7.
