Last week, the Sul Ross State football team showed a lot of grit and determination by overcoming a 28-0 deficit against Howard Payne during a 56-42 shootout.
Sul Ross narrowly missed out on recording its first three-game winning streak in six years.
Each week the team is proving that it can compete with just about anybody.
The Lobos embark on a tough road stretch the next two weekends with meetings against nationally ranked opponents.
For Week 6, all eyes are on No. 10 Hardin-Simmons.
>> HEAD TO HEAD: Hardin-Simmons is 39-3 against Sul Ross since the first meeting 94 years ago.
The Lobos captured wins over the Cowboys in 1996, 1997 and 2013 by the scores of 31-26, 27-21 and 42-38, respectively.
Both schools have met every year since 1990. Previously, Sul Ross played Hardin-Simmons in 1928, 1934 and 1935, before the series went on a 55-year hiatus.
Hardin-Simmons has dominated the last three meetings by outscoring Sul Ross, 149-6.
>> THE COWBOYS: Hardin-Simmons is coming off a 45-13 win over inner city rival McMurry last week.
Senior quarterback Gaylon Glynn threw four touchdown passes in the victory while compiling 334 yards. Glynn has been responsible for 12 touchdowns and 935 passing yards this season.
Senior wide receiver Kevi Evans caught two touchdowns against McMurry to bring his season total to five. Evans now has 372 receiving yards on 17 receptions.
The rushing attack is led by running backs Colton Marshall (So.), Myles Featherston (So.) and Kolby Youngblood (Sr.).
Last week, the trio had 97 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Marshall scored twice while recording 47 yards on eight carries.
Defensively, the Cowboys grabbed two interceptions while recording nine tackles for loss, one sack and two pass breakups.
