Box Score 2 SHERMAN, Texas - Volleyball split the final day of the Austin College and Univ. of Dallas Tournament on Saturday with a 3-0 win over Schreiner and a 3-0 loss to Austin College.

Set 1:
Sully opened up a 2-0 lead in set one on a bad set and a kill by
Annika Canaba. Schreiner came back with a pair of points to tie it before Canaba retook the lead with a kill followed by an attack error for a 4-2 advantage.
The Lobos broke things open with a 5-0 run for a 12-7 lead. They held at least a three-point lead until the Mountaineers used a 5-0 run to trail 19-18.
Sully responded with the final six points of the set for a 25-18 win.
Set 2:
Schreiner took an early 5-2 lead before a kill from
Mia Bella Ruiz and an attack error cut it 5-4. The Mountaineers continued to hold the lead with the Lobos continuing to keep it close until a 7-2 run gave Schreiner a 25-18 win in set two.
Set 3:
The Mountaineers opened the third set with a 5-2 advantage before 7-2 run gave the Lobos their first lead at 9-7. Canaba added two kills with
Isabella Ruiz and
Taryn Griner each adding one.
After a small 2-0 answer,
Kamrynn Caruth finished a 3-0 response with a kill for a 12-9 lead.
Sully extended their advantage to as many as four and held the lead until Schreiner scored three in a row for a 23-23 tie.
Set three was extended past the regular goal of 25 points with Sully having three chances to take the set. Schreiner proved formidable and eventually took it by a 32-30 score.
Set 4:
The Lobos opened the fourth set with the first four on a kill by
Daniella Garcia, two from Canaba and a bad set by the Mountaineers for a 4-0 lead.
Sully opened that lead to six on a 4-0 run to lead 9-3. Caruth, Canaba and
Mia Bella Ruiz each added kills.
Schreiner responded with a 6-0 run to tie it 9-9 before a service error and a kill from Griner made it 11-9.
The Mountaineers tied it with the next two. The next three points went back and forth with the Lobos laeding twice by one. Schreiner then scored the next six for an 18-13 lead.
Sully cut it to three with back-to-back kills from
Mia Bella Ruiz and Canaba but again trailed by five with a 2-0 answer from the Mountaineers.
The Lobos quickly answered with a 9-2 run for a 24-22 lead with Canaba,
Mia Bella Ruiz, Griner and Caruth each adding kills.
Schreiner tied it 24-24 with the next two points before a service error and an attack error gave Sully the 26-24 win in set four.
Set 5:
The Lobos opened the final set with the first three with the help of a pair of kills from Canaba.
Schreiner cut it to one before a 3-1 answer gave Sully a 6-3 lead.
Sully saw their lead cut to one on three occasions but outpaced the Mountaineers 5-3 down the stretch for a 15-12 set five win to take the match.
Canaba finished with a triple-double of 27 kills, 20 assists and 13 digs.
Caruth led the Lobos with 32 assists and added 11 digs.
Faith Herrera led Sully with 16 digs.
Match Two vs. Austin College

Set 1:
The Lobos took an early 3-1 lead with kills from
Daniella Garcia and
Loren Garcia.
Austin College tied it with two straight before Canaba gave Sully a 4-3 lead with a kill. Canaba later broke another tie with a kill for a 5-4 advantage age.
The Roos tied it 5-5 to start a 6-1 run for a 10-6 lead.
Sully cut it to two with a Griner kill and an attack error for a 10-8 score.
Schreiner immediately extended their lead to five and held at least a three-point advantage the rest of the way for a 25-16 win in set one.
Set 2:
The Roos opened the second set with a 5-1 run and eventually stretched it to 7-2.
Kills from
Mia Bella Ruiz and Griner started a 7-1 run for a 9-8 Sully lead. Griner added another kill alongside
Victoria Flores and
Mia Bella Ruiz.
Tatyana Colon also added an ace.
Schreiner retook the lead at 12-10 before a
Victoria Flores kill and Caruth ace made it 12-12.
The Mountaineers broke it open with a 9-2 run for a 21-14 lead and held on from there for a 25-19 win in set two.
Set 3:
Schreiner opened the third set with a 6-0 run before Sully answered with the next four.
Brylee Sweeten ended the AC run with a kill. A bad set followed before
Victoria Flores notched an ace and nother bad set followed for a 6-4 score.
The Roos again stretched it to six with a 6-2 answer.
Sully trimmed the deficit to three with a pair of kills from
Ester Garcia and an attack error for a 12-9 score.
Trailing 14-9, a service error and a
Danielle Gomez ace made it 14-11.
Sully was able to tie it up with a 4-0 answer for a 15-15 score. Herrera and
Victoria Flores started with kills before a Herrera service ace and a kill from Griner finished the quick 4-0 run.
Austin College immediately retook the lead and stretched it to three to make it 19-16.
Amber Adams cut it to two with a kill before an attack error and
Victoria Flores ace made it 19-19.
The Roos used a 3-1 answer for a 22-20 lead before an attack error and
Kaci Flores kill tied it at 22-22.
Austin College was able to score the final three of the set for a 25-22 win to sweep the match.
Canaba led the Lobos with six kills.
Herrera had a team-best 11 digs.
Victoria Flores was not far behind with nine.
The Lobos are 2-2 on the season and will begin ASC play at the Gallego Center on Tuesday, September 7 against Mary Hardin-Baylor.
