ALPINE, Texas - Volleyball fell in three sets Friday at the Gallego Center to visiting UT Dallas.

"It was definitely a tough game," said head coach
Troy Canaba. "It just wasn't our game. We now must regroup and keep working."
Set 1:
Sully opened the match with three in a row on a kill by
Daniella Garcia and two attack errors from the Comets for a 3-0 lead.
UTD scored the next three before they committed a service error to give the Lobos a 4-3 advantage.
Sully again led by three with a kill from
Annika Canaba and two more Comet attack errors for a 7-4 lead.
The Lobos continued to hold the edge until a 7-0 UTD run put the Comets ahead 15-11.
Sully nipped at the deficit and tied it up with a 7-3 answer for an 18-18 score. The streak saw a kill each from Canaba,
Daniella Garcia,
Isabella Ruiz and
Victoria Flores.
UTD came back with three straight and held the lead until the end of set one for a 25-22 win.
Set 2:
The Comets opened the second set with a 5-0 run and eventually increased it to 11-4.
Sully fought back and cut it to tied it at 12-12 with an 8-1 run.
UTD took the lead back and held slim margins that the Lobos trimmed to one on three occasions, but the Comets were able to take set two by a 25-19 score.
Set 3:
Daniella Garcia opened the set with a kill before a pair of UTD attack errors later made it 3-1.
Both sides swapped slim leads until a Comet attack error and back-to-back kills from Flores and Canaba gave the Lobos a 15-12 lead.
Sully continued to hold the lead, but UTD stormed back with a 13-2 finish for a 25-17 score in set three and a sweep of the match.
Canaba and
Daniella Garcia led the Lobos with seven kills each. Canaba added nine assists and eight digs.
Kamrynn Caruth finished with a team-highs 12 digs and 12 assists.
Faith Herrera and
Mia Bella Ruiz were close by with 10 each.
Daniella Garcia and
Taryn Griner both tied for a game-high four blocks.
The Lobos fall to 6-5 and 4-3 in the ASC. UT Dallas moves to 6-7 and 4-2.
Sully finishes the weekend at home on Saturday with a 12:00 p.m. first serve against LeTourneau.
