Lorenz walks off game two for doubleheader split with Concordia #SRSU | #ASCbsb | #d3b

ALPINE, Texas - Jared Lorenz's second home run of the night propelled the Lobos to a 5-4 win in game two to help split Friday's home doubleheader with Concordia.

Friday, April 16
Game One: Tornados 17 - Lobos 8 (7 innings)

CTX opened the game with a pair of runs in the top of the first for a quick 2-0 lead and went on to extend that to 5-0 in the top of the second with three more.

Jared Lorenz put the Lobos on the board for the first time in the bottom of the second with a single that scored Jorge Marquez. Jalen Benton later brought home Lorenz on a groundout to the pitcher. Jett Hartley then scored on a wild pitch before Aleman came across on an error to cut the deficit to 5-4.

Concordia upped their lead back to five with four runs in the fourth for a 9-4 advantage.

The Lobos didn't take long to get back into the game when Tye Lindsey cut it to one with a grand slam in the bottom of the fourth to score Aleman, Benton, and Carsen Thor for a 9-8 game.

Pitching settled down on both sides as the score remained 9-8 in favor of the Tornados going to the seventh.

Concordia broke things open again with eight runs in the top of the seventh to take the game by a 17-8 final.

Starter Isaiah Moya shouldered the loss after three innings on the mound.
