KERRVILLE, Texas - In route to their weekend series with Belhaven, the Lobos added a solo game against Schreiner and fell 14-4 to the Mountaineers.
Sully scored the first run of the game when
Jalen Benton scored in the first inning after an error by the third baseman for a 1-0 lead.
The Mountaineers answered back with the next 11 runs over the first five innings for an 11-1 lead heading to the sixth.
Carsen Thor came around in the sixth on a passed ball to cut it to 11-2.
Schreiner put up the next three in the bottom of the sixth for a 14-2 lead.
The Lobos plated one in the seventh on an error by the right fielder that scored Benton and another in the ninth on a Thor RBI single to score Benton for a 14-4 score that eventually went final.
Benton batted 3-for-4 out of the leadoff spot, scored three times, walked once and stole a base.
Thor and
Richard Bailey both put up two hits on the day. Bailey also had a steal on the day.
Starter
Dean Foley took his first loss of the season after 2.2 innings on the mound.
The Lobos drop to 4-11 on the season and remain 1-8 in conference play.
Sully continues on to Jackson, Mississippi for a doubleheader on Friday, March 26 against Belhaven.
