RICHARDSON, Texas - Men's hoops had a late comeback attempt in the final minutes but fell 74-69 to UT Dallas on Saturday.

"I don't think UTD could miss that first half," said head coach Xavier Webb. "Our guys did a great job of fighting back and putting ourselves in an opportunity to win the game. We just ran out of time. We will regroup this week and place our focus on Howard Payne."

First Half
Larry Morrison opened the game with a layup and later gave the Lobos a 4-2 lead with a dunk. UT Dallas took the lead back with the next eight and held it through the remainder of the half. The Lobos were able to cut into the deficit, scoring the final six with layups from Morrison, Daveone Bass and Logan Dixon to trail 39-28 at the half.

Second Half
Jordan Rhyne cut it to six near the midway point of the half with a layup for a 53-47 score. UTD held at least a seven-point lead and was ahead 72-61 with just over four minutes left. The Lobos mounted a comeback with the next eight on triples from Trey Nelson and Dixon, and a layup from Gabe Sanchez for a 72-69 score with just under two minutes left.
