Annika Canaba surpassed 1,000 career kills in her Sul Ross career and notched her seventh triple-double of the season on Friday night in a tight 3-2 loss to East Texas Baptist.

Set 1:
ETBU never trailed through the first 16 points of the game until a
Daniella Garcia kill and a bad ETBU set gave Sully a 9-8 lead. They would get the lead right back and again held a lead or it was tied until kills from
Daniella Garcia,
Annika Canaba and
Loren Garcia gave the lobos a 21-19 advantage.
The Lobos continued to hold the lead until the Tigers tied it at 25-25.
Each side got it to set point three times down the stretch before ETBU used their last time to take set one by a 35-33 score.
Set 2:
Trailing 2-1, the Lobos took a 4-2 lead with a 3-0 run and upped it to 10-6 with a 4-0 run.
Another 4-0 run gave Sully a 15-9 lead that saw a kill by Canaba and a service ace from
Faith Herrera.
Sully was the first to 20 due to back-to-back ball handling errors by the Tigers for a 20-14 score.
ETBU then went on a 7-1 run for a 21-21 tie.
A
Daniella Garcia kill preceded a
Kamrynn Caruth ace for a 23-21 lead and they eventually got to set point at 24-23 on a Canaba kill
The Tigers tied the set wit the next two and next five points went back and forth for a 27-27 tie.
ETBU scored the final two of the set for a 29-27 win in set two.
Set 3:
The Lobos opened with a 3-1 run before the Tigers took their first lead with a 3-0 answer and extended it to 6-4.
A 7-1 run followed for Sully to for an 11-7 advantage that later extended to 15-9.
ETBU then cut it to 18-17 with a 8-3 answer and later took a 22-20 lead with a 5-0 run.
The Lobos answered back with the next three that was capped by kills from
Daniella Garcia and
Victoria Flores for a 23-22 lead. The Tigers then tied it with a kill before an attack error setup Flores for the match point kill for a 25-23 win in set three.
Set 4:
Flores opened the set with a kill before ETBU scored the next three.
The Lobos then used a 5-1 run for a 6-4 lead that would hold until the Tigers went on a 5-0 run for a 15-14 advantage.
Sully retook the lead at 17-16 and held it until a 3-0 run for ETBU made it 24-24.
Isabella Ruiz then brought it to set point before an attack error gave the Lobos a 26-24 win to force set five.
Set 5:
The Tigers started the set with a 5-1 run before Canaba's kill partnered with a
Tatyana Colon ace and a ball handling error to trail 5-4.
Trailing 7-4, Canaba and
Isabella Ruiz cut it to 7-6 with back-to-back kills.
ETBU then upper their advantage to 13-7 with a 6-1 run and took the fifth set and the match by a 15-9 score.
Canaba's triple-double came with 23 kills, 24 assists and 15 digs.
Caruth finished with a game-high 29 assists and had a team-best 19 digs.
The Lobos are 13-8 and 9-6 in conference. ETBU stands at 11-9 and 8-6.
Sully concludes the home part of their season at on Saturday, October 23 at 12:00 p.m. against Belhaven for senior night.
