ALPINE, Texas - Volleyball defeated Howard Payne in three sets for the second time this month on Tuesday night at the Gallego Center.
"It was a great win and we're glad to be back at the Gallego Center," said head coach
Troy Canaba. "It was a great game and we were able to look at other players in some different positions."

Set 1:
Sully opened the match with a 5-0 run with three kills from
Loren Garcia and one from
Taryn Griner to set the pace early.
The Lobos continued their hot offensive start and increased their margin to 15-5.
Mia Bella Ruiz notched a pair of kills while
Danielle Gomez and
Loren Garcia each added one.
Sully later upped their advantage to 13 with a 6-3 run that saw two more kills from
Loren Garcia, one from
Annika Canaba and a service ace from
Faith Herrera for a 21-8 lead.
HPU could only cut it to 10 down the stretch before
Nora Carrasco secured the first set with a kill for a 25-14 score.
Set 2:
The Lobos repeated their quick start with a 7-0 run to begin the second. After a ball handing error and an attack error from HPU started it,
Loren Garcia followed with a kill. Back-to-back aces from
Kamrynn Caruth proceeded before the run was finished by Canaba and Caruth kills for the seven-point lead.
Sully's first double-digit lead came at 17-7 with a
Mia Bella Ruiz kill and an HPU attack error.
The Yellow Jackets got to within eight at 21-13 but surrendered the next four.
Isabella Ruiz started with a kill before
Tatyana Colon served an ace. An attack error made it set point and
Mia Bella Ruiz finished with a kill to give Sully a 2-0 lead by a 25-13 score.
Set 3:
Daniella Garcia and
Loren Garcia opened the third set with back-to-back kills.
HPU then took their first lead of the match with a 3-0 answer and would hold it until a 4-0 Sully run tied the game at 12-12.
Daniella Garcia started with a kill before
Mia Bella Ruiz followed with an ace and a kill. An HPU ball handling error then tied the set.
The Lobos took their next lead of the set with a 5-1 run for a 17-15 advantage. Four kills were seen during the run with two from Canaba and one apiece from
Daniella Garcia and
Isabella Ruiz.
After HPU cut it to one, Sully used a 4-0 answer with the help of a pair of kills from
Mia Bella Ruiz for a 21-16 lead. Ruiz notched another kill to start a small 3-0 run that was finished with a kill from Carrasco to bring it to match point at 24-17.
The Yellow Jackets trimmed it to four with a 3-0 answer until
Amber Adams finished the match with a kill for a 25-20 win and sweep for the Lobos.
Canaba finished with 12 kills, 13 assists and 14 digs for her sixth triple-double of the season. She also added a team-high three blocks.
Mia Bella Ruiz was also in double digits with 12 kills while
Loren Garcia had 10.
Caruth led the game with 14 assists and tied a game-best two aces.
The Lobos have won seven of their last nine and improve to 13-7 on the season and 9-5 in conference. HPU falls to 3-17 and 1-12.
Sully continues their season at home on Friday, October 22 against East Texas Baptist.
