ABILENE, Texas - Volleyball opened with a set one win but dropped the final three in a four-set road loss to McMurry.
"Hats off to McMurry tonight," said head coach
Troy Canaba. "They played great and had a lot of energy. We just couldn't match them tonight."

Set 1:
McMurry opened with a 5-2 run before kills from
Annika Canaba and
Mia Bella Ruiz cut it to 5-4. That was the start of an 11-3 run to give Sully a 13-8 lead.
Taryn Griner added two kills and
Daniella Garcia had another during a 5-0 streak to help give the Lobos the three-point lead. The run was finished with another Garcia kill and two more from Griner for the five-point advantage.
A 5-0 response from the War Hawks tied it at 13-13 before they eventually took a 15-14 lead.
The next eight points went back and forth until an attack error and a
Kamrynn Caruth service ace put the Lobos ahead 21-20.
Two ties followed before the Sully finished the set with a 3-1 run on two kills from Canaba and one from
Isabella Ruiz to take it 25-23.
Set 2:
McMurry opened with a 15-4 run and stretched it to 23-5 before ultimately evening the match with a 25-11 score in set two.
Set 3:
Canaba opened the third set with a kill and a service before Griner added a kill for a 3-1 lead.
Sully continued to hold a slim lead until McMurry used a 3-0 run for a 10-10 tie.
Griner added another kill during a 4-1 answer to give the Lobos a 14-11 advantage.
The War Hawks answered with an 8-2 run to lead 20-17.
Later trailing 24-20,
Mia Bella Ruiz contributed two kills during a 4-0 run for a 24-24 tie.
McMurry responded with the final two for a 26-24 win in set three.
Set 4:
The Lobos opened with a 4-1 run on a kill each from
Daniella Garcia, Canaba,
Loren Garcia and
Tatyana Colon.
McMurry later used a 7-1 run to take a 10-7 lead.
Isabella Ruiz and
Daniella Garcia responded with kills, but the War Hawks used a 10-2 run to take a 20-11 advantage and eventually took the set and match by a 25-14 score.
Canaba finished with 10 kills, 15 assists, nine digs and two aces.
Mia Bella Ruiz led the Lobos with 16 digs.
Faith Herrera was close behind with 14.
Caruth added 13 assists and Colon had 10 digs.
The Lobos stand at 11-7 on the season and 7-5 in conference. McMurry is 6-9 and 4-8.
Sully stays in Abilene and concludes the weekend with a 12:00 p.m. first serve on Saturday against Hardin-Simmons.
