Tristen Licon broke a 70-70 tie on a jumper with 8.2 seconds left to lift the Lobos in a 72-70 thriller against East Texas Baptist on Thursday at the Gallego Center.
After ETBU started the game up 4-1,
Julian Paredes knocked down a triple for a 4-4 tie three minutes into the game.
The Tigers extended it to three again but saw
Caelyb Kerley connect from three for a 7-7 score.
Sully's first lead came from the free throw line after Licon hit a pair for a 9-7 lead.
ETBU was quick to pounce and retook the lead on a 6-0 run and a 13-9 advantage with just a little over midway through the first half.
Paredes responded with a jumper and then a three-pointer to go ahead 14-13 with just under 8:00 left.
The Tigers never trailed long to this point and took a 23-16 lead on a 9-3 answer at 5:49.
Now down six, Licon answered with back-to-back-to-back layups to tie it 25-25. He was fouled on his third layup and knocked down the free throw for a 26-25 lead.
Jezreel Griffin then got on the board with a triple and Paredes capped off the 15-2 run with a layup to lead 31-25 with 2:10 before the half.
Both sides swapped baskets the remainder of the half for a 33-28 Lobos lead at the break.
Logan Dixon opened second half scoring with a three to go up eight.
ETBU was able to trim it to two with a 9-3 run but soon trailed again by five after Paredes was fouled on a made layup and hit the free throw for a 42-37 lead.
The Tigers again had an answer and eventually retook the lead just past the halfway point on a 15-6 run and a 52-48 score.
Paredes tied things up with a small 4-0 run of his own with a pair of free throws and a layup before a Griffin layup put Sully up 54-52 with 7:00 left.
After an ETBU layup tied it, Paredes again had an answer with a layup and a triple for a 59-54 advantage.
The Lobos continued to hold a small lead that eventually got down to single point with under 5:00 left.
Paredes continued to stay hot with a triple to lead 64-60 just 15 seconds later.
Kerley then came up big with a pair of triples to twice put the Lobos up two possessions. His second from beyond the arc made it a 70-64 game around the 3:00 mark.
The Tigers used final couple minutes of the fourth on a 6-0 run for a 70-70 tie.
After a missed free throw, Licon found himself with the ball and was able to connect on a jumper for a 72-70 lead.
ETBU had a chance on the other end, but Licon was able to smack the ball away from the dribbler for a turnover and a 72-70 victory over the Tigers
Paredes finished with a game and career-high 29 points and added five rebounds.
Licon added 17 in the victory and had a game-high eight rebounds.
Jake Lopez proved again to be the facilitator with a game-high 10 assists.
The Lobos improve to 6-5 on the year and stand at 4-2 in ASC play. ETBU drops to 8-5 and 2-2.
With their next game against LeTourneau canceled, Sully next travels to Clarksville, AR on Thursday, January 28 to take on University of the Ozarks.
