Chandre Nunez scored a season-best 31 points to help end a three-game losing streak in a 77-64 win Thursday over McMurry at the Gallego Center.
The senior finished with six rebounds to go with her game-high 31.
Down 2-0 early, Chandre hit back-to-back jumpers to give Sully its first lead at 8:38.
Five different one-point lead changes ensued before the War Hawks finished the first quarter on an 8-4 run to lead 18-13 heading to the second.
Sully started the second quarter on a 6-0 run to retake the lead.
Ashley Nunez started the second on a layup before two free throws from
Jackie Saucedo and a
Kaylee Martinez layup gave the Lady Lobos a 19-18 lead at 6:26.
McMurry answered with a 5-0 run, but Sully came right back with an 11-0 run for a seven-point lead, their largest of the half, with 3:19 until the break.
Ashley Nunez started the streak with a triple,
Jackie Saucedo added a pair of free throws, and
Chandre Nunez sank back-to-back threes for the 30-23 lead.
The War Hawks were able to narrow the gap with a 6-1 run but still trailed the Lady Lobos 31-29 at intermission.
McMurry started the second half with the first three before Sully took control with an 11-2 run. Seven came from Martinez and four from Chandre for a 42-34 lead at 6:21.
The Lady Lobos took their largest lead of the third on an
Ashley Nunez triple to go up 54-45 at 1:43. They'd eventually settle on a 56-49 advantage entering the fourth.
Sully extended their lead to 11 on a jumper by
Ashley Nunez and a pair of free throws from
Chandre Nunez to start the fourth.
The War Hawks soon cut a 10-point deficit to 63-61 on an 8-0 with 4:58 remaining.
Watching momentum slip away, Sully regrouped and commanded the remainder of the game with a 14-3 run for the 77-64 victory.
Ashley Nunez finished with 15 points and four rebounds.
Martinez added 12 points, nine rebounds, and a team-high five steals.
Saucedo came down with a game-high 12 rebounds.
The Lady Lobos improve to 6-16 and 4-9 in conference play. McMurry falls to 9-13 and 2-11.
Sully stays at the Gallego Center this Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. tipoff against Hardin-Simmons.
