RICHARDSON, Texas - Tristen Licon was in true form Tuesday afternoon, dropping a new career-high 35 points in an 89-75 win over his former head coach Clif Carroll and the Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders.

With the game being played on the campus of UT Dallas in Richardson, the senior guard added six rebounds, five assists, and five steals to go with the also game-high 35.

Licon also moved up the all-time scoring list, surpassing Larry Morales' 1287 for fourth with 1292. Brandon Harvey is currently third on the list with 1319.

The Lobos got out an early 4-0 lead on a Licon layup and Logan Dixon Jumper just 2:13 into the game.

The Crusaders answered with six unanswered for a 6-4 lead just 50 seconds later.

After a Licon triple, UMHB came back with five more for an 11-7 advantage at 14:42.

The first half started with a number of small runs as Omar Boone rattled off six straight over the next 2:10 for a 13-11 lead.

Each side swapped leads four more times before the Lobos controlled the final eight minutes. Carson Perkins broke a 19-19 tie with a triple that was soon followed by a Julian Paredes layup at 6:23.

The Crusaders narrowed it to two at 4:50, but Sully used an 11-0 run over the next 2:35 for a 13-point lead with Paredes adding a pair of triples and Licon finishing the drive on a three-point play with a made jumper and free throw after the foul.

UMHB was able to respond with a 9-2 run to finish the half, but the Lobos still led 39-33.

After a Cru triple to start the second half, Paredes hit his own from beyond the arc off a steal and assist from Licon for a 42-35 lead 1:04 into the second.

Sully had an answer for every bucket UMHB had over the next 5:23 and eventually led 52-44 on a Boone triple at 13:33.

The Cru were quick to respond with a 12-2 run over the next 4:40 for a 59-55 advantage with 8:53 left.

UMHB held the slim lead over the next 1:32 before Dixon cashed in on two successful trips to the free throw line for a four-point swing and 62-61 lead at 6:31.

The last six minutes and change belonged to the Lobos as they quickly broke out to a 69-61 lead with a 7-0 run. Dixon supplied five more during the stretch with three more from the line and a layup for the eight-point lead with 5:33 left.

Former Lobo Sam Reaves stopped the streak with a layup but saw Perkins and Dixon respond with a triple and layup respectively to go up 11 with 4:30 remaining.

The closest the Cru got again was nine on a pair of occasions, but Sully led by as many as 15 down the stretch before settling for the 89-75 victory.
