MARSHALL- Men's basketball was in a back and forth game with host East Texas Baptist in the first half but never led in the second in a 102-85 loss Saturday.
Sully trailed 10-2 before the offense got going with an 18-5 run to lead 20-15 with 12:23 left in the first half.
Logan Dixon later extended the lead to 25-18 on a jumper at 11:15 for their largest lead of the half.
The Tigers bounced back with an immediate 12-2 run for a three-point lead at 7:51
The Lobos answered with a 12-4 run take a 39-34 advantage.
B.J. Hollis started with a jumper before
Conner Dawson tied things up on a triple after an ETBU jumper.
Jake Lopez supplied the next four on back-to-back layups before Hollis ended the run with a triple for the five-point Sully lead with 4:15 left in the first.
Three ties and lead changes transpired from there as the Tigers took a slim 46-44 lead to halftime.
ETBU's lead remained between three and six points through the start of the second half until they took an eight point lead at 12:42. Dixon hit a three the next possession to cut it back to five, but a 6-0 answer put the Tigers up 11 at 10:04.
The closest the Lobos came again was eight as ETBU ended the game on a 9-0 run for the eventual 102-85 win.
Hollis finished with a game-high 25 points and a team-high 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Tristen Licon added 16 points and five rebounds.
Sul Ross' record evens to 8-8 on the season and 5-2 in conference play. The Tigers improve to 13-2 and 6-0.
The Lobos next play Thursday, January 23 against UT Dallas. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Gallego Center.
