AUSTIN- The Lady Lobos dropped three matches over the weekend to Concordia, University of St. Thomas (TX), and Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Host Concordia defeated the Lady Lobos 3-0 before St. Thomas rebounded from a 2-0 hole to win in five sets on Friday.

Host Mary Hardin-Baylor defeated the Sully in three sets on Saturday.

CTX 3 - SRSU 0

The Lady Lobos fell 25-23, 25-21 and 25-21 in straight sets.

Annika Canaba led Sully in kills with 13. Kylee Davis totaled 17 assists. Hannah Zly had double digit digs with 10.


UST 3 - SRSU 2

Sully took early control of the match with 26-24 and 29-27 wins in sets one and two.

The Celts answered back and took the next three sets by scores of 25-18, 25-13 and 15-7.

The Lady Lobos trailed 6-2 early in set one.

Their first lead wouldn't come until a kill by Isabella Ruiz made it 12-11.

Sully held the lead until a 7-1 Celts run put them ahead 23-21.

The Lady Lobos ended the set on a 5-1 run and took the set 26-24 on an attack error.

Set two saw a 5-0 start for the Lady Lobos aided by two Asher Haack services aces and kills by Ruiz and Canaba.

Sully's largest lead came at 22-15 on a Celts attack error.

The Celts crept back and tied it 23-23 and eventually took their first lead 27-26.

Kills by Ruiz and Canaba put the Lady Lobos back on top before an attack error gave them the 29-26 win in set two.

The Celts overcame small deficits in each of the final three sets and took the match with 25-18, 25-13 and 15-7 wins in sets 3-5.

Canaba registered another triple double with 17 kills, 17 assists and 21 digs.

Three other Lady Lobos totaled double digit kills. Jordan Scherer notched 12, Ruiz and Autumn Kilpatrick had 11.

Four other Lady Lobos joined Canaba with double digit digs. Zly 23, Haack 16, Ruiz 14, and Karah Martinez 11.

Haack also had a team-high 25 assists.


UMHB 3 - SRSU 0

After dropping set one 25-18, the Lady Lobos took a 7-3 lead in set two.

The Cru reclaimed the lead on a 6-0 run and never relinquished in again in a 25-17 win.

Down 1-0 in set three, the Lady Lobos sported an 8-0 run with help from three Scherer kills. 

UMHB used 6-0 and 8-0 runs to eventually take a 17-10 lead.

Sully could only creep back to within four in the 25-20 loss in set three.

The Lady Lobos stand at 7-5 on the year and 0-2 in ASC play.

Conference volleyball continues this Saturday when the Lady Lobos host Howard-Payne for a 1:00 p.m. match at the Gallego Center.
