ALPINE- Volleyball made quick work of the visiting Howard Payne Lady Jackets in three sets Saturday at the Gallego Center.
Sully won in straight sets of 25-15, 25-14 and 25-14.
The first 19 points of set one included seven ties, six lead changes and a 10-9 lead for the Lady Jackets.
The Lady Lobos mounted a 10-0 run for a 19-9 lead and eventual 25-15 first set win.
Sully started set two on a 4-0 run before a
Jordan Scherer kill ended a 6-3 run for an early 10-3 lead.
Another 4-0 run later in the match gave the Lady Lobos a commanding 20-10 lead en route to a 25-14 win in set two.
The Lady lobos trailed 3-1 in set three before an 11-2 run flipped the script and gave Sully a 12-5 lead.
The Lady Jackets crept to within a 12-8 deficit before a quick 4-0 run doubled the Lady Lobo lead to 16-8.
Annika Canaba finished off HPU with a kill for the 25-14 win in set three and the 3-0 match sweep.
Tentative stats included Canaba with a team-high 11 kills.
Hannah Zly brought her double digit digs streak to 12 games with 12 for the match.
The Lady Lobos move to 8-5 on the year and 1-2 in ASC play. The Lady Jackets move to 2-10 and 0-3.
Sully next travels to Longview September 27 and 28 for the first ASC Crossover hosted by LeTourneau.
