Demetrio Ortegon's goal tied the game going to the half, but the Cru responded with two unanswered in a 3-1 win over Sully on Saturday.
Jason Goodin of the Cru got scoring started 8:31 into the first half off an assist by Marcelo Gaitan for a 1-0 lead.
Goalkeeper
Frank Rodriguez would save the next four shots that came his way but was eventually substituted for
Alexis Tellez at the 32:08 mark. Tellez finished the rest of the first half with a save and played the remainder of the game.
Ortegon tied the score 1-1 at 41:48 of the first half unassisted as the Lobos and Cru went to the half 1-1. Ortegon also led the Lobos in shots on goal for the game with two.
Rolando Nieto of UMHB broke the tie at 53:31 and Jasen Zirkel padded the lead at 85:15 as the Cru went on for the 3-1 win.
Sully put five on goal for the game with
Nana Prempeh,
Mauricio Perez, and
Osvaldo Ogaz all adding one.
The Lobos stand at 3-6-2 on the year and 1-3-2 in ASC play. UMHB improves to 7-4-1 and 4-2-0.
Sully entertains McMurry Thursday, October 17 for a 3:30 p.m. conference clash at Lobo Field.
