SAN ANTONIO- No. 1 Trinity University scattered 10 runs over the first seven innings of play to defeat Sul Ross in a 10-2 decision Friday in San Antonio.
Both teams combined for 17 hits and six errors in the two-game series closer.
The Tigers scored three runs over their first three at-bats.
Wesley Moss scored in the Lobo fourth off a single by
Jonathon Bigley before Trinity registered seven runs in its half of the sixth to take a 10-1 lead.
In the top of the seventh,
Joseph Sanchez reached on a fielder's choice and scored
Jace Jenkins for the final run for the visitors and Trinity went on to secure the 10-2 win.
Cody Remore was tagged with the loss after three innings from the hill.
Sul Ross drops to 19-13 on the season and will face NCAA Division I New Mexico State in Las Cruces April 17.
