ALPINE, Texas- Following a 4-1 victory in game one of Friday's twin bill, the Sul Ross baseball Lobos dropped a 15-3 decision to visiting Hardin-Simmons University at Kokernot Field.
The Lobos picked up the series win at 2-1 and sit at 17-10 overall and 11-4 in ASC play. The Cowboys improve to 9-17 and 7-8 with the series-closing win.
Hardin-Simmons notched the first run of the first contest in their opening at-bat.
A single by
Jonathon Bigley in the Lobo first scored
Wesley Moss to tie the game at one.
Sul Ross broke the tie in the second as
Ryan Acebedo's single to left center field scored
Guillermo Loera from a 2-1 Lobo lead.
The home squad plated two more runs in the fifth off a pair of sacrifice flies by
Monty Maley and Loera which scored
Ryan Almager and Bigley for a 4-1 Sul Ross lead and the eventual victory.

Aaron Marquez pitched 4.2 innings and posted the win while freshman reliever
Sam Russell collected his second collegiate save.
The Cowboys scored two runs in the opening inning of game two before a single by Moss in the second scored
Mike Munden and
Jace Jenkins to tie the game at two.
Hardin-Simmons broke the knot with two runs in the fourth before Munden scored again in the bottom of the frame off a single by Acebedo.
The Cowboys took the reigns with an 11-run attack in the sixth and seventh and coasted to the 15-3 victory.
Sul Ross will face LeTourneau in Longview next Friday and Saturday in a three-game conference series.
