ABILENE- Shooting a season-best 57 percent from the field, the Sul Ross State University men's basketball team delivered an 86-69 thumping of host Hardin-Simmons University at the Mabee Complex Thursday night.

Sully shot 36-of-63 from the floor and missed just two out of 11 free throw attempts at 82 percent against the Cowboys.
Gary Ringo, JR led the charge scoring 15 points while
Caleb Thomasson sported a double double 14 points and 13 rebounds.
The Lobos found themselves in an 8-0 hole early in the contest.
A layup by Ringo tied the game at 29 with 6:24 left in the first half.
A three-pointer by
B.J. Hollis at the 4:45 mark gave the visitors their first lead of the game, up 32-31.
A jumper in the paint by
Caleb Thomasson at :54 seconds extended the Lobo lead to six before the Cowboys' Jerod Martin knocked down a triple 12 seconds later as Sully went to the half ahead, 40-37.
The Lobos then went on a scoring binge midway through the second half as
Tristen Licon converted two free throws giving Sul Ross a 65-47 lead.
Stephen Walker's layup at 6:21 gave Sully its largest lead of the game, a 21-point, 74-53 advantage.
Sul Ross never lost its grip as Ringo scored the final bucket of the outing with just under a minute left for the 86-69 victory.
C.J. Ross belted out 12 points against Hardin-Simmons while Hollis added 10. Licon posted a team-best six assists.
Sul Ross bumps its overall and ASC marks to 17-5 and 12-2 while Hardin-Simmons falls to 8-15 and 6-9.
Saturday's contest against the War Hawks is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. tip.
