ABILENE- A four-run rally in the top of the fourth inning coupled with seven runs in the ninth propelled the Sul Ross Lobos to an 11-4 conference victory over McMurry University in the series finale Monday.

Monday's win gives Sully the series sweep and their second sweep of the season.

The War Hawks scored a run in their first three innings for a 3-0 lead.

A single by Monty Maley in the Sul Ross fourth scored Jonathon Bigley before a two-base error by the McMurry catcher scored Maley and Holden Simpson.

Ryan Acebedo then scored, unearned, on a single by Austin Luna giving the Lobos a 4-3 lead heading to a scoreless bottom of the fourth.

McMurry tied the game in the sixth on a wild pitch.

Following a dormant seventh and eighth, Jace Jenkins scored the first of seven runs for the visitors in the ninth off a bases-loaded walk by Jacob Ochoa.

Luna then scored on a single by Ryan Almager before another bases-loaded walk by Bigley brought Wesley Moss across for a 7-4 Sul Ross lead.

Simpson would then reach base on a dropped fly ball which scored Ochoa and Almager.

Jenkins followed up with a double to left field that brought Simpson and Bigley across for the 11-4 victory.

Sully edged the War Hawks in the hitting department by a 9-8 margin.

Junior reliever Aaron Marquez picked up his first victory of the season after working the final 3.2 innings.

Marquez gave up just two hits and a walk while striking out seven of 12 McMurry batters.

Sul Ross improves to 7-6 on the season and 3-0 in ASC play while the War Hawks fall to 3-6 and 0-3.

The Lobos return to Kokernot Field this Friday and Saturday for a three-game, non-conference series with former ASC foe Austin College.
