ALPINE, Texas- University of Mary Hardin-Baylor stalled a late-game Sul Ross rally and defeated the Lobos, 79-78 handing Sully its first home setback Thursday at the Gallego Center.

Trailing by 13 in the last five minutes of the contest, Sul Ross fought its way down to a two-point deficit with a three-point basket by Tristen Licon with eight seconds left in regulation.

The Crusaders' Demarius Cress converted a free throw with six seconds remaining extending the Cru's lead to three, 79-76.

A three-point foul sent Licon to the stripe with one and a half seconds left on the clock.

The El Paso freshman knocked down two of the three foul shots to pull the home team to within a point. The Crusaders were able to find an open pass off the inbound following Licon's final free throw and held on for the 79-78 victory.

The Lobos took a 12-point lead off a triple by B.J. Hollis with 12:22 remaining in the first half.

Sully would then go on to hold a pair of 13-point advantages off of back-to-back free throws by Licon and Stephen Walker at the 11:11 and 9:10 marks.

The visitors battled their way down to a three-point deficit off a Kendal Lytle layup with 1:29 left before the half.
