LONGVIEW- Sul Ross State University Volleyball dropped two conference matches in the closing round of the ASC Crossover Saturday at LeTourneau University.

Sul Ross dropped a five-set heartbreaker to Belhaven in scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-14, 26-24 and 15-8.

The Lady Lobos then suffered a 3-0 setback to East Texas Baptist University in scores of 25-15, 25-15 and 25-17 .

In Saturday's first around against Belhaven, Sul Ross posted victories in sets two and three.

In the second game against the Blazers, a kill by Isabella Ruiz broke a 4-4 tie as Sully and Belhaven held each other in check for most of the set.

Priscila Serrano's kill at the 16-12 mark summed a 4-0 run before Sul Ross moved on another 4-0 attack capped by a bad set by the opposition.

The Lady Lobos ended the game on a kill by Jordan Scherer on an assist by Hannah Zly for the 25-18 victory.

In set three against the Blazers, Sully overcame an early deficit and held a 5-2 advantage off an ace by Alesi Hernandez.

Another ace by senior McKenna Thomas gave Sul Ross a 16-9 favor before breaking away for a 10-point lead setting up the game point.

Hernandez then set up the game-winning kill for Ruiz as the Lady Lobos claimed the 25-14 win.

For the match, Scherer and Ruiz led with 12 and 10 kills respectively. Hernandez polled 20 assists. Defensively, Thomas and Zly contributed 20 and 19 digs.

Against East Texas Baptist, Mirella Thomas posted 10 assists while Zly added 10 digs.
