Caleb Thomasson registered a team-best 25 points and eight rebounds as the Sul Ross men's basketball team took down Beloit College of Wisconsin, 78-61 Friday in Austin.
The Lobos finished at 54 percent shooting from the field at 26-of-48 including a 6-of-15 performance from beyond the arc. Sully wrapped up the first half with an astounding 68 percent shooting percentage at

Sul Ross also had an impressive showing at the free throw line converting 20-of-23 foul shots including a 9-for-9 performance in the second half.
The Bucaneers took an early 5-0 lead before a layup by
Conner Dawson finished a 8-0 Sul Ross run and tied the game at eight with 14:50 remaining in the first half.
Beloit broke the tie with a layup by Darrin Epeneuer and the Bucaneers would go on to hold a pair of five-point leads over the next three minutes.
Stephen Walker then converted a pair of foul shots at 11:35 to tie the contest at 16.
Gary Ringo, JR fired off a three-pointer at the 8:51 mark as Sul Ross took command for the remainder of the half.
Thomasson connected on a high-post three pointer to put the Lobos up by 12 at 1:33.
Beloit then narrowed the margin at nine off a late-second layup by Matt Miller as Sully led 45-36 heading to the break.
Walker posted an old school three pointer with a layup and free throw before
Jola Otubu extended the Lobo lead to 14 with 19:11 left in the second half.
Otubu then drained a long range jumper at 16:32 and spread the gap, 57-41.
Sul Ross would go on to sport two more 16-point leads off of a jump hook by
Tristen Licon and a dunk by Dawson.
The Bucaneers pulled to within eight at 6:44 with a layup by Nathaniel Shead.
The Lobos put Beloit away with an 8-0 run as Dawson posted the final basket of the contest with a layup at 44 seconds.
For the game, Thomasson finished with four assists and a block. Walker accounted for 15 points while Licon and Dawson finished with 12 and 10 points respectively.
Sully extends its winning streak to seven and improves to 9-4 on the season. Beloit falls to 1-10.
The Lobos will return to ASC play with a five-game home stand beginning January 4 against University of the Ozarks. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Gallego Center.
