ALPINE, Texas- Caleb Thomasson (Ackerly/Sands) posted a team-high 20 points but Sul Ross (9-9, 5-4 ASC) was never able to sustain momentum as the Lobos fell, 82-69 to visiting Concordia (11-6, 5-3 ASC) Thursday.

Sully will face ASC foe Mary Hardin-Baylor in a 3:00 p.m. tip Saturday at the Gallego Center.

The Tornados jumped out to a 6-2 lead to begin the game before Thomasson's jumper in the paint tied the outing at nine with 15:26 left in the opening half.

Concordia would hold a very slim lead over the next four minutes before Xavier Webb (Riverton, WY/RHS) bingoed from long distance to tie the game at 20.

The visitors quickly broke the knot and would go on sport several double digit leads before ending the period on a 4-0 run, up 44-30.

Concordia broke away with a pair of 20-point leads near the midway point in the second half.

Sul Ross assembled a 7-0 run that Connor Dawson (Tilden/McCullen County) ended with a three-point play as the Tornados held their slimmest lead of the half, up 74-66.

The Tornados quickly broke back into a double digit lead and never relinquished control for the remainder of the contest.

Webb posted 14 points on the night while Thomasson led at the boards with seven rebounds.

Sul Ross connected on half of its shots from the field at 26-of-52 shooting and converted 6-of-17 from beyond the arc at 35 percent.
