Saturday's setback drops the Lady Lobos to 1-11 and 0-2 while UMHB improves to 7-3 and 2-0.
Sul Ross returns to Austin and Concordia University next Friday and Saturday for cross division competition against LeTourneau and ASC East powerhouse U.T. Dallas.
Mary Hardin-Baylor cruised to a 25-11 win in the opening set before Sul Ross countered with a 27-25 victory in game two.
The Cru took the final pair of sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-15.
Nina Sterling (San Marcos/SMHS) tallied 18 assists with libero McKenna Thomas (Odessa/Permian) leading defenders with 21 digs. Sterling and Serrano recorded 10 stops each in the effort.
