Soccer settles for 2-2 tie with ETBU

ALPINE, Texas- Maria Alatorre (El Paso/Mission Early) squeezed in a pair of goals between scores by ETBU as the Tigers and Lady Lobos finished with a 2-2 tie after double overtime Saturday.

Sul Ross moves to 2-2-1 on the season and 1-0-1 in ASC action while East Texas Baptist moves to 2-0-2 and 0-0-1 following its league opener with the Lady Lobos.

Sully will be in conference road play September 22 and 24 as the Lady Lobos visit University of the Ozarks and U.T. Tyler.

The Tigers pasted the first goal of the day off the foot of Emily Laxson at the 5:46 mark, first half.

Alatorre then converted, unassisted, at 25:04 before closing the period off another goal off an assist by Rachel Hamilton (San Antonio/James Madison) in the second half giving the home team a 2-1 lead.

ETBU's Erin Miller then scored unassisted at 86:05 to knot the contest at two heading to a scoreless double overtime.

As a team Sully posted 15 shots with 11 on goal while ETBU tallied 25 shots, 17 on goal.
