VideoALPINE, Texas-Alex Harrison (Lubbock/Monterey) supplied 26 points for his second straight team high and led Sul Ross to a 97-72 victory over LeTourneau in the quarterfinal round of the American Southwest Conference Men's Championship Thursday.
The Lobos will face a familiar foe as Sully will square off with Hardin-Simmons Friday night at 7:30 in the semifinal round at the Gallego Center. The winner of that game will play the winner of East Texas Baptist and Louisiana College for the ASC title Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
The Tigers and Wildcats will battle each other at 5:00 p.m. Friday evening.
Other Lobos in double figures include Caleb Thomasson (Ackerly/Sands) with 22 points. Brock Anders (Keller/KHS) and Jacob Dawson (Amarillo/AHS) added 16 and 15 points respectively in the victory.
Sul Ross took control early and mounted a 13-2 run to begin the contest.
The Lobos would go up by 16 with 11:30 remaining in the first half as Thomasson converted a layup before Harrison nailed a long range jumper at 7:03 giving Sully a 35-13 advantage.
Rocky Feliciano (El Paso/Hanks) drained a three-pointer at 17 seconds giving the Lobos a 48-27 lead at the break.
Sully went on to hold three, 27-point leads in the second period and went up by 28 at 12:53 off a midrange jump shot by Feliciano.
The Yellow Jackets could pull no closer than 17 as the Lobos welded the lid shut with a 10-0 run for the 97-72 win.
LeTourneau ends its season at 12-14 while Sul Ross improves to 16-9.
