The Lady Lobos suffered a slow night's shooting converting just 15 of 52 from the field at 29 percent and hit just two of 13 from outside the curve. Both three-pointers came in the second half.

The Crusaders held the advantage for the first four minutes of the game before a jump shot by Miles gave Sully a 6-5 lead with 5:38 remaining in the first period.

Miles then connected on a free throw at 5:10 before Ashley Ousley (Killeen/Shoemaker) converted a foul shot at 4:59 giving the home team an 8-5 lead.

A 6-0 SRSU run ended with a midrange jumper by Jonette Jackson (Killeen/Shoemaker) at 1:10 with Sul Ross leading 14-7.

UMHB ended the period on three free throws and trailed 14-10 heading to the second.

The Lady Lobos held the lead for the first half of the second quarter before a jumper in the paint by Jonelle Smith gave the Cru a one-point go ahead, leading 20-19 at 5:18.

Mary Hardin-Baylor would hold a very slim favor for the remainder of the period and went to the break up 26-25.

Two free throws by Ousley returned the lead to Sul Ross to begin the third quarter.

A jump shot by Ashely Minjarez (El Paso/Irvin) at 9:11 gave Sully a 29-26 advantage.

Meghan Turner's layup at 8:25 returned the lead to UMHB as the Crusaders would go on to lead by six, 36-30, with 5:11 left in the third.

The visitors held Sul Ross to a four-point margin as the Cru headed to the closing period up 39-35.

Mary Hardin-Baylor pounced on a 6-0 and led by 12, 47-35 with 3:39 remaining in the game.

The Lady Lobos narrowed their deficit to four at 1:21 off a layup by Ousley before the Cru banked on three foul shots to claim the 50-43 victory.
