MARSHALL- Caleb Thomasson (Ackerly/Sands) recorded his fourth straight double double with 11 points and 10 boards as the Sul Ross men's basketball team (4-4, 2-1 ASC) defeated East Texas Baptist (4-3, 0-3 ASC) Thursday night in Marshall.

The Lobos will tangle with Wayland Baptist University in a non conference bout Saturday in Plainview.

Following a 3-3 tie in the opening moments of the contest the Lobos never relinquished the lead and posted a 15-point, 26-11 advantage as A.J. James (Spring/SHS) connected from long range with 7:24 remaining in the first half.

Sully broke out to an 18-point lead at 4:30 as James popped another three-pointer.

B.J. Hollis (Brady/BHS) then fired off two free throws giving the Lobos a 19-point, 37-18 advantage at 2:17 before ETBU made two foul shots to end the period down 37-20.

Sul Ross dominated in the second half as Jacob Dawson (Amarillo/AHS) drained a three-pointer at 8:19 for a 50-34 lead by the visitors.

The Tigers ended the game on a 4-0 run for the 62-45 Lobo victory.

James and Dawson finished the evening with 11 points each.
