The Lady Lobos suffered a cold hitting performance in the opening set falling 25-9 before regrouping with a 25-21 set victory in game two.
UMHB shouldered wins in the final two sets in scores of 25-22 and 25-17.
Sully broke an 8-8 tie in the second game with a 3-0 run ending on an attack error by the opposition.
The Lady Lobos would go on to sport a 17-12 advantage following kills by
Brittany Serrano (Marfa/MHS) and Hugi.
Sul Ross ended a 3-0 run off an ace by
Alison Muldrow (Crosby/CHS) to hold a six-point lead, up 21-15.
Another kill by Serrano put the game out of reach as Sully posted its lone set victory.
For the match Serrano totaled eight kills with 30 assists coming from
Katie Reeves (Odessa/Permian). Reeves also collected three aces in the effort while Muldrow finished with a pair of block solos.
McKenna Thomas led the defense with 30 digs while Reeves tallied 12 scoops.
