Four Sul Ross players finished in double figures as Caleb Thomasson (Ackerly/Sands) posted a team high and double double 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Rocky Feliciano was a point behind his teammate with 13 points and continued his season perfect streak at the free throw line at 3-3. Feliciano is the best free throw shooter in the American Southwest Conference connecting on 35 of 35 shots from the line.
Other Lobos in double figures include Jacob Dawson (Amarillo/AHS) with 11 points and Brock Anders (Keller/KHS) with 10 points.
As a team Sully shot 29 of 55 from the floor against the Yellow Jackets at 53 percent.
Sul Ross never surrendered the lead and started the contest on a 9-0 run which ended with a layup up by Feliciano at the 17:30 mark, first half.
The Lobos would continue to build their momentum and ended the first half of play with a 33-22 advantage.
LETU pulled to within four, four times in the second half and trailed the Lobos 46-42 with 9:22 left in the game.
Sul Ross mounted a 6-0 run which ended on a steal and a break layup by Feliciano at 8:21.
The Lobos put LeTourneau away on a 5-0 run ending on a free throw by Patrick Mound (Cedar Park/Coleman) giving Sully the 72-56 victory.
Sul Ross picks up its first win of 2015-16 and improves to 1-4 and 1-0.
The Lobos will make a quick trip to Tyler for conference play Saturday in a 1:00 p.m. tip against U.T. Tyler before facing Sam Houston State at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in an exhibition bout in Huntsville.
