ALPINE, Texas- Rocky Feliciano (El Paso/Hanks) recorded a season high 22 points and was a perfect 14 of 14 from the free throw line as Sul Ross dropped a 102-82 decision to U.T. Permian Basin Friday at the Gallego Center.

Feliciano is perfect from the line on the season converting 32 of 32 foul shots just four games into his senior campaign.

Fellow El Paso native Mike Huffman (El Paso/Eastwood) and Jacob Dawson (Amarillo/AHS) saddled 10 points each in the effort while Alex Harrison (Lubbock/Monterrey) grabbed six rebounds.

Sul Ross shot 36 percent from the field against the Division II Falcons. Feliciano's 14 points from the charity stripe aided the Lobo free throw shooting performance as Sully nailed 33-41 from the stripe at 81 percent. Huffman was also perfect at the line at 4-4 while Patrick Mound (Cedar Park/Coleman) went 5-5.

The Lobos outscored the Falcons by a 42-24 margin in points off the bench while U.T.P.B. posted a 42-24 margin in points in the paint.

Sul Ross held a brief 7-4 lead early in the contest before the Falcons assembled an 8-0 run and led 27-17 with 9:03 left in the first half.

U.T.P.B. would go on to lead by as many as 15 before the Lobos mounted a 13-0 run late in the period. Eight of those points on that drive came from Feliciano including a long range jumper and three straight free throws to pull Sul Ross to within a deuce trailing 47-45 at the break.

The Falcons broke away with a 10-0 run to begin the second half and led 57-45 at 16:26.

The Lobos were unable to suppress a hot shooting attack by U.T.P.B. down the stretch as the visitors shot 20-32 in the second half and glided to the 102-82 victory.

Sul Ross falls to 0-4 on the year while U.T.P.B. improves to 4-2.

The Lobos will open American Southwest Conference play next Thursday as Sully visits LeTourneau for a 7:30 nightcap from Solheim Arena. Sul Ross will then face U.T. Tyler on Saturday, December 5 at 3 p.m. before heading south to Huntsville to play Sam Houston St. in an exhibition contest the following day at 2 p.m.
