Zach Adair is entering his second season as the Assistant Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Sul Ross State University.
During the 2025–26 season, Adair helped Sul Ross improve its overall record from 3–24 to 5–21, its Lone Star Conference record from 2–20 to 3–17, and its home wins from two to four. The Lobos also improved in three-point percentage, assists per game, rebounds per game, steals per game, scoring margin, and opponent points allowed.
Adair also assisted in the development of Camren Roper, who recorded the first triple-double in program history and broke the single-season steals record.
Before Sul Ross, Adair served as an Assistant Coach and Player Development Coach at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor during the 2024–25 season. UMHB finished 15–11 and was the runner-up in the American Southwest Conference. During that season, the Cru produced one Second Team All-Region selection, one First Team All-Conference selection, one Second Team All-Conference selection, one Third Team All-Conference selection, two honorable mention selections, and one All-Freshman selection. UMHB also posted a 3.3 team GPA, the highest in program history.
Adair also helped develop Eli Beard, who advanced to play Division I basketball at Drexel University.
From 2019 to 2023, Adair worked with Army Basketball at Fort Cavazos, Texas. He trained former collegiate players, as well as players who advanced to professional opportunities overseas and in semi-professional basketball.
As a player, Adair was selected as one of 12 soldiers to compete for the United States Army Basketball Team at the All Armed Forces Tournament. He earned bronze medals in back-to-back seasons in 2023 and 2024.
Adair played collegiately at Southwest Texas College from 2015 to 2017, where he earned Newcomer of the Year and All-Freshman Team recognition during his first year. In his second year, he earned Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference honors, Tournament MVP, and a TCAC Conference Championship.
Adair earned his Master’s degree in Sports Management from American Military University, his Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Sul Ross State University, and his Associate’s degree from Southwest Texas College.
