A three-time ASC West Division Coach of the Year and a 2018 South Region Coach of the Year, Clif Carroll enters his fifth season as head men’s basketball coach at Sul Ross State University.
In his first season with the Lobos, Carroll led Sul Ross to its first West Division title since 2005 and fourth overall.
Carroll also guided Sul Ross to its first ASC title since 2003-04 in 2017-18.

Carroll spent half of the 2016-17 campaign as head women's basketball coach and guided the Lady Lobos to their first post season appearance in ASC history.
Carroll, 37, spent two seasons in the same capacity at McMurry University
in Abilene. Carroll also serves as a lecturer in Physical Education.
Prior to his stint at McMurry, Carroll was an assistant for Pat Knight at Lamar University
in Beaumont from 2011-2013. Earlier, he was an assistant coach at Collin County Community College
in Plano from 2008-2011, when the Cougars won 77 games over a three-year span. During two years as an assistant at South Plains College
in Levelland, the Texans posted a 56-12 mark. South Plains won the National Junior College Athletics Association national championship in 2008, finishing 30-5.
A Meadow, TX
native, Carroll began his coaching career as a student assistant on Bob Knight’s staff at Texas Tech University in Lubbock.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences from Texas Tech in 2006. Carroll completed his Master’s degree in Health and Human Performance from Sul Ross in August, 2016.
Carroll and his wife, Beth, who serves as a volunteer coach on the women's and men's soccer teams, have two son, Waylon and Willie.
