Initiated athletics fund that later became the Student Aid Fund

Obtained grant that established the Sul Ross Museum

Chair of the Sul Ross history department, 1929-62

Had an Associates of Arts – Clarendon (1923) and B.A. (1925) and M.A. (1926) – SMU, all in history

Doctor of Philosophy from Texas (1931)
