Peyten Kennard is in his first season as an assistant coach for Sul Ross State baseball.
Kennard is no stranger to the program as he played the last four years for the Lobos. He started all but two of the 79 games he played with 17 extra base hits, scored 36 runs and drove in 55 runs while throwing out 27 base runners. Kennard made All-American Southwest Conference honorable mention (2022) and was named to the ASC Academic All-Conference team (2024).
Kennard started his collegiate career at Odessa College (2020). The Wranglers were off to a 21-2 start before the season was halted due to COVID.
Kennard played at Frenship High School. As a junior, he helped the Tigers go 28-7 and finished first in the district. As a senior, Kennard helped to guide his team to the Class 6A regional quarterfinals. The Tigers were 51-22 over his last two seasons.
Kennard has an B.S. in Kinesiology and Human Performance from Sul Ross State.
Kennard resides in Alpine, Texas.
