Lobos Take On Dustdevils On The Road

LAREDO, Texas – Senior Neeyah Stevenson was in double-figures for kills as the Sul Ross State University volleyball team (0-4 LSC, 0-14) lost 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 27-25) to Texas A&M International (1-4 LSC, 7-9), Saturday afternoon at the TAMIU Kinesiology and Convocation Building.

In the first set, Texas A&M International got off to a 10-2 start to effectively end the set.

In the second set, the Dustdevils looked to be in control, 10-6.  Stevenson found the back corner to start a run of five straight points.

That put Sul Ross State up 11-10.  It went back-and-forth until 18-17, TAMIU.  The Dustdevils went on a 5-1 run to take control.

In the third set, the Lobos and Texas A&M International slugged it out the whole way.  SRSU fought off two match points to tie the score at 25-25.  The Dustdevils managed to take the next two points to end the match.

For Sul Ross State, Stevenson had 10 kills and hit .368.

For Texas A&M International, Mia Molina had 19 kills.

Sul Ross State stays on the road, Tuesday, Sept. 29 playing #6 Angelo State.  The match is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
