Lobos Battle Eagles On The Road

EDMOND, Okla. – The Sul Ross State University women's soccer team (0-4-1 Lone Star Conference, 0-6-2) lost 4-0 to Oklahoma Christian (2-2 LSC, 5-3), Wednesday afternoon at Eagle Soccer Field.

In the first half, Sul Ross State and Oklahoma Christian put on a strong defensive display.  The two teams allowed just 11 shots combined with only four on goal.  The Eagles scored twice in the first eight minutes of the second half to take control.

"Conference play is demanding and today we  felt the weight of a difficult schedule.  We had a long trip Wednesday against a nationally ranked team, and today we faced a team that was rested and prepared.  I thought we competed well in the first half, but in the second half, we allowed eight minutes to change the entire match.  At this level, you cannot switch it off for that long.  Now it's about recovering, learning from it and making sure we respond the right way."

Sul Ross State returns home, Saturday, Sept. 26, hosting West Texas A&M.  The game is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m.
