Lobos Duke It Out With Falcons

ALPINE, Texas – The Sul Ross State football team (0-1 Lone Star Conference, 1-2) lost 66-7 to The University of Texas Permian Basin (AFCA receiving votes) (2-0 LSC, 2-1),  Saturday night at Jackson Field.

Sul Ross State went toe-to-toe with UT Permian Basin for most of the first quarter.  Down 10-0 with six minutes to go in the opening stanza, the Falcons scored three touchdowns to effectively seal the game.

Freshman Will Howell finished the night with 200 yards in total offense, his third straight game at 200+ yards.  Sophomore Ronald Bell had four catches for 81 yards.  Junior Vince Arcuri got the Lobos on the board with a six-yard touchdown run. 

Freshman Keithron Lee returned five kickoffs for 92 yards.  Defensively, sophomore Jaeden Servantez broke up two passes and freshman Javien Powell had his first collegiate interception.

Sul Ross State hits the road for the first time this season, Saturday, Sept. 26, playing Central Washington.  The game is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m., Pacific Standard Time.
