Lobos Set To Open Home Season

ALPINE, Texas – The Sul Ross State University volleyball team (0-10) is set to open the Lone Star Conference season with a pair of home games.

THIS WEEK:

THURSDAY – SEPT. 17 – LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN (4-6) – 6:00 p.m.
Lubbock Christian is coming off a pair of losses to West Texas A&M (RV) and #6 Angelo State. Leading the Lady Chaps is Leigh Jespersen with 2.53 kills per set. LCU lead the series 3-0.

SATURDAY – SEPT. 19 - MIDWESTERN STATE (4-6) – 2:00 p.m.
Midwestern State went 1-1 at the Lone Star Challenge weekend. The Mustangs lost in four to Oklahoma Christian and beat Texas A&M Kingsville in four. Isabella Dickens leads MSU with 3.22 kills per set while hitting .322. The Mustangs lead the series 3-0.

LAST WEEK
Sul Ross State lost 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-13) to Texas A&M International in the LSC Challenge Weekend, Sept. 10 at the TAMIU Kinesiology and Convocation Building.

For Sul Ross State, Libby Foster had seven kills, recorded two block assists and hit .333.

Sul Ross State lost 3-2 (19-25, 20-25, 25-21, 32-30, 15-10) to Eastern New Mexico in the LSC Challenge Weekend, Sept. 11 at the TAMIU Kinesiology and Convocation Building.

For Sul Ross State, Antyiahna Lang had 15 kills and hit .400, McKenzie Hart had 11 kills, nine total blocks and hit .455 and Foster had nine kills while hitting .391.

Hart had eight block assist, tied for fifth best in NCAA program history. Anayah Sinclair was right behind Hart with seven block assists. Violetta Flores had three aces and Hannah Garcia had 10 digs.

As a team, the Lobos hit .256 and had two solo blocks with 24 assists for 14 team blocks. The assist blocks are tied for fifth in NCAA program history.
