Lobos Set For A Pair Of LSC Games

ALPINE, Texas – It's a home and away week for the Sul Ross State University women's soccer team (0-1 Lone Star Conference, 0-3-1) this week.

SCHEDULE

Sept. 16 – Lubbock Christian (1-0-1 LSC, 4-1-1) – 2:30 p.m.
The Lady Chaps opened up LSC play tying West Texas A&M 1-1 and beating Oklahoma Christian 2-1.  It's a balance offense with five players scoring at least two goals.  In the net, Emma Wright has a 1.20 G.A.A. in 450 minutes.  LCU leads the series 2-0.

Sept. 19 – at #15 Texas Woman's (2-0 LSC, 6-0) – 1:00 p.m.
The name of the game for the Pioneers is defense.  TWU has given up just one goal this season and allowed just eight shots on goal.  The Pioneers lead the series 2-0 although both game were decided 1-0.

RANKINGS
Sul Ross State leads the Lone Star Conference in four categories.  As a team, the Lobos have 52 saves and averaged 10.40 per game.  Individually, Kat Graves has 49 total saves for 9.80 per game.

At the NCAA DII level, SRSU is fifth in saves per game while Graves is second in total saves and fourth in saves per game

LAST WEEK
Sul Ross State lost 6-0 to #4 Dallas Baptist, Sept. 9 at Patriot Soccer Field.

Dallas Baptist got out quick, scoring 4:06 into the game.  Sul Ross State battled back with a shot that was stopped by a great play at the last minute.  The Patriots scored twice in the last 16 minutes of the half to take control.

For the Lobos, Kat Graves finished with 10 saves.

It was a long day as Sul Ross State lost 3-0 to UT Dallas, Sept. 12 at Lobo Soccer Field.  Due to lightning, the game took over four hours to complete.

For the first 16 minutes, Sul Ross State and UT Dallas played a defensive game with no shots from either team.  The Comets drew first blood at the 16:32 mark.

Three minutes later a great play prevented the Lobos from tying the game.  UTD added a second goal with 18.26 left in the half to effectively seal the game.

Graves finished with 10 saves.
