Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Lobos And Comets Battle In Long Day

ALPINE, Texas – It was a long day as the Sul Ross State University women's soccer team (0-2 Lone Star Conference, 0-4-1) lost 3-0 to UT Dallas (1-0-1 LSC, 5-0-1), Saturday afternoon at Lobo Soccer Field.  Due to lightning, the game took over four hours to complete.

For the first 16 minutes, Sul Ross State and UT Dallas played a defensive game with no shots from either team.  The Comets drew first blood at the 16:32 mark.

Three minutes later a great play prevented the Lobos from tying the game.  UTD added a second goal with 18.26 left in the half to effectively seal the game.

Sul Ross State had seven shots with three on goal and were called for 10 fouls.  Freshman Kat Graves finished with 10 saves.

UT Dallas had 18 shots with 13 on goal, five corner kicks and were called for 10 fouls.

Sul Ross State remains home, Wednesday, Sept. 16 taking on Lubbock Christian.  The game is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.
