Lobos Fall To Lady Chaps

LUBBOCK, Texas – Sophomore Jenna Leanos, sophomore Alexandra Ramos and freshman Baylie Savage had four hits each as the Sul Ross State University softball team (5-35 Lone Star Conference, 7-40) lost 10-7 and 12-2 to Lubbock Christian (24-16 LSC, 28-22), Sunday afternoon at Maner Park.

Game-1
Sul Ross State and Lubbock Christian slugged it out for the first five innings.  The Lobos held a 7-4 lead going into the bottom of the sixth.

The Lady Chaps scored six runs in that inning.  In the seventh, SRSU had two on with two out.  LCU got a ground out to end the game.

For Sul Ross State, senior Elizabeth Clemente had two hits with a home run and drove in two runs while Leanos, Ramos and Savage had two hits apiece.  Freshman Addison Castilleja (3-9) gave up 10 hits, nine runs, walked three and struck out four in 5.1 innings.

For Lubbock Christian, Alexis Clark (10-8) gave up three hits, one run which was unearned, walked two and struck out three in four innings.

Game-2
In the night cap, Lubbock Christian scored six runs over the first three innings to seal the deal. 

For Sul Ross State, Leanos, Ramos and Savage had two hits each.  Freshman Jaclyn Pate (2-16) gave up 12 hits, 12 runs with 10 earned, walked four and struck out two in 3.3 innings.

For Lubbock Christian, Natalee Gray (6-4) gave up seven hits, two runs, walked three and struck out three in four innings

Sul Ross State has finished the 2026 season.
