Lobos See Falcons Fly Away

ODESSA, Texas – The Sul Ross State University men's basketball team (2-11 Lone Star Conference, 4-14) lost 81-63 to UT Permian Basin (5-8 LSC, 9-12), Thursday night at the Falcon Dome.

For the first six minutes, Sul Ross State and UT Permian Basin battled on even terms.  Junior Antwonne Holmes hit a tough shot in the paint.

That cut the margin to 10-7 at the 13:51 mark.  The Falcons scored 16 consecutive points to effectively seal the game.

The Lobos continued their strong play on 3-pointers holding UTPB to .261, the fourth straight game that an opponent shot under .300.

For Sul Ross State, junior Camren Roper had 19 points, five assists, 10 rebounds (all defensive) and three steals, freshman Julien Barclay had 14 points and three steals and junior Tim Mikhailov scored 12 points.

For UT Permian Basin, Sharrod Taylor had 18 points.

Sul Ross State remains on the road, Saturday, Feb. 7 playing Angelo State.  The game is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
