Mustangs Pulls Away from Lobos

Wichita Falls, Texas – Sul Ross State University Women's Basketball (3-22, LSC 2-17) played on the road Wednesday evening at Midwestern State University (8-17, LSC 5-14) inside D.L. Ligon Coliseum. Midwestern State pulled away for a 96-60 Lone Star Conference victory over the Lobos.

Sul Ross was led offensively by Victoria Aguayo and Sophiya Bustillos, who each scored 14 points. Aguayo delivered another standout all-around performance, finishing with nine rebounds, four assists, and five steals. With those five steals, Aguayo now sits at 101 steals on the season, breaking the previous single-season program record of 99 steals set by April Ramirez (2001–02). Bustillos added five rebounds, while Itzel Caro provided a spark off the bench with 13 points.

Despite the setback, the Lobos continued to compete throughout all four quarters, generating 17 bench points and consistent effort on the defensive end. Sul Ross will look to close the regular season on a positive note Saturday, traveling to Lubbock, Texas for a Lone Star Conference matchup against Lubbock Christian University with tipoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
