Lobos Battle Comets in Tight LSC Contest

Richardson, Texas – Sul Ross State University Women's Basketball (3-21, LSC 2-16) played on the road Tuesday evening against UT Dallas (11-14, LSC 8-10) at the UTD Activity Center. The Comets held off a late push by the Lobos to secure a 71-65 victory in the Lone Star Conference matchup.

Sul Ross scored 13 points in both the first and second quarters, followed by 19 points in the third and 20 points in the fourth to stay within striking distance throughout the contest. The Lobos were led offensively by Sophiya Bustillos, who recorded a game-high 24 points while connecting on six three-pointers, and Leslie Mojica, who added 16 points along with four rebounds and three assists. The game also marked a milestone for Victoria Aguayo, as the senior guard appeared in the 100th game of her collegiate career for Sul Ross State.

The Lobos continue on the road Thursday with a Lone Star Conference matchup against Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, with tipoff set for 5:30 PM, before closing the road swing Saturday against Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, Texas at 1:00 PM.
