Lobos Close LSC Series Against Dustdevils

Laredo, Texas – Sul Ross State University Baseball (1-13, LSC 1-13) closed out its four-game Lone Star Conference series Sunday afternoon, falling 9-3 to Texas A&M International University (7-7, LSC 7-7) at Jorge Haynes Field.

The Lobos struck for three runs in the fourth inning to cut into an early Dustdevils lead, with Joseph Binder crossing the plate and Luke Garrett delivering a key two-RBI single to highlight the frame. Garrett finished the day 1-for-4 with two RBIs, while Alfonso Lopez and Brock Rogers each added hits as Sul Ross totaled five hits and worked nine walks in the contest. Binder and Lopez also recorded stolen bases as the Lobos continued to compete through the final out.

The Lobos return home next weekend to open a four-game Lone Star Conference series Friday, Feb. 27, against Texas A&M University–Kingsville at Kokernot Field in Alpine, Texas.
