Denton, Texas — Sul Ross State University Women's Basketball (1–11, LSC 0–6) traveled to Denton on Thursday evening for a Lone Star Conference matchup against No. 3 Texas Woman's University (12–1, LSC 6–0) at Kitty Magee Arena. The Pioneers won the Lone Star Conference matchup, 86–37.
Sul Ross was led by senior Victoria Aguayo, who delivered a strong all-around performance with a team-high 13 points, eight rebounds, and three steals while playing all 40 minutes. Aguayo also went a perfect 5-for-5 at the free-throw line, continuing to set the tone with her physical play, effort on the glass, and leadership on both ends of the floor as the Lobos competed against one of the Lone Star Conference's top teams.
Sul Ross remains on the road, continuing Lone Star Conference play on Saturday, January 10, with a 1:00 PM matchup against the University of Texas at Tyler at the Herrington Patriot Center in Tyler, Texas.
